Help for the Homeless

We help you team up with churches and agencies who serve the homeless.

ACTION coordinates with a number of different ministries and agencies to help serve the homeless population and under-resourced families. Besides helping to provide basic needs such as food and clothing, this ministry also seeks to expand the supply of available housing-shelter for those in need. Contact Rachelle Melia at the ACTION office to participate in this ministry.

Ongoing Ministry Opportunities

Oxnard Park Ministry

Every Saturday, 9:00am

Similar to the MacArthur Park ministry, this weekly outreach to the poor is located in Oxnard Community Park. World for Christ oversees this wonderful community outreach ministry. Each Saturday morning at 9:00AM, volunteers representing churches all over West Ventura county come together to feed, clothe and give the word of God to those in extreme need. For more details or to participate in this ministry, please contact the ACTION Ministry Center.

El Rio Food Pantry & Tutoring Center

Every Saturday, 8:00am-1:00pm

We serve the people of El Rio and Nyeland Acres (unincorporated sections of Oxnard) each Saturday. We operate under the direction of Mercy Ministries International and are hosted by Bethany Chapel, Assembly of God Church in El Rio. We provide food for approximately 40 families weekly. You can volunteer to help box up the food in the morning or help us love our neighbors when they arrive from 10am to 1pm. Spanish and Mixtecan language proficiency is appreciated.
